Institutional Mandate

Institutional Mandate

The National Defence College - Uganda (NDC-U) is mandated to provide high-level strategic education, training, and policy research for selected senior military officers of the Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF), allied armed forces, and senior officials from government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), preparing them for higher command, strategic leadership, and national security policy-making.

Vision

To be an internationally recognized Centre of Excellence in policy, security, and strategic studies, dedicated to fostering a secure, stable, and prosperous Uganda, and contributing significantly to regional and global peace and security.

Mission

To prepare and empower selected senior security officers, public servants, and their equivalents from Uganda, allied nations, and the international community for strategic leadership roles in security, defence, and public policy through advanced education, research, and collaboration.
