Research at NDC-U

The Centre of Excellence for Strategic Defense Inquiries, Geopolitical Forethought, and National Security Policy Formulation.

Directing Thought, Securing Sovereignty

Research at the National Defence College - Uganda (NDC-U) forms the intellectual cornerstone of our institution. Operating under the Directorate of Strategic Studies and Research, the College serves as the premier think-tank for the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA), the UPDF General Headquarters, and the National Security Council.

Our applied research model bridges military doctrine, high-level political economy, intelligence synthesis, and civil governance. In full academic partnership with Makerere University through the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS), NDC-U pioneers empirical inquiry that directly solves multi-domain security challenges in Uganda and the Greater Horn of Africa.
